Senior Lecturer

I have been an educator 鈥� working in HE, secondary education (as a classroom assistant and teacher), and HE again 鈥� since 2005. I joined the 台湾六合彩开奖记录鈥檚 School of Education, where I teach across both our subject areas of Education and English, in January 2018.

I am Course Coordinator for both the School鈥檚 Foundation Year (Level 3 equivalent) and BA(Hons) Education degree. Please feel free to contact me directly about either course at oliver.belas@beds.ac.uk

My research interests are in philosophy, education, and English, and I am keen to hear from potential PhD candidates interested in working in these areas. I have published a number of academic and more generalist pieces (see below), my recent monograph, , was published by Routledge in 2023, and was nominated for the BERA Education Research Book of the Year.

My article, 鈥淪ubject English as Citizenship Education,鈥� written with my colleague Dr Neil Hopkins, was awarded the BERJ 2020 Editors鈥� Choice Award
