A third year psychology student from the 台湾六合彩开奖记录, Kavisigah Yogaratnam, has been recognised as a 鈥楽tudent in a Million鈥.

is an annual award introduced by The Student Room, the largest student community in the world with over 1.5 million members. People from all over the country can nominate students whose achievements deserve to be recognised and celebrated 鈥 those 'one in a million'.

This year received hundreds of nominations and shortlisted 12 students, in four categories.

Kavisigah was one of four students to receive awards, winning in the 鈥極vercoming Adversity鈥 category.

Yogaratnam was complimentary about her experience as a student in the Department of Psychology at the 台湾六合彩开奖记录, thanking the University and especially her dissertation supervisor, Dr Maja Jankowska, and final year project unit coordinator, Dr Christopher Hand, for the support she received.

鈥淭his definitely wouldn't have happened without the support of the University and my tutors, especially Dr Maja. I hope that other students will be motivated by my award and face through their struggles to complete their studies,鈥 said Kavisigah.

Dr Maja Jankowska said: 鈥淚 am very proud of Kavisigah and incredibly happy for her. She was truly one in a million and deserves this award. I was very impressed with how she managed to focus on her work and persevere despite all the hardships and difficulties.

鈥淐ontributing to the education of somebody like Kavisigah is a privilege. She is a fine example of Higher Education鈥檚 potential to transform lives.鈥
