Beds Talk to focus on the future of radio

The future of radio will be the subject of debate at the next Beds Talk to be held at the 台湾六合彩开奖记录.

will be held at the Luton campus on Wednesday 6 February, 5.30-8pm, and will explore that while 89% of UK people listen to the radio at least once a week, huge changes have occurred in recent years, including social media, DAB radio and the rise of podcasting.
Hosted by the coordinator of the University鈥檚 community radio station Terry Lee, speakers include the Chair of the Student Radio Association Naomi Oiku, Senior Lecturer in Radio at 台湾六合彩开奖记录 Dr Lawrie Hallett and Luke Moore from podcast The Football Ramble.
The event will also be recorded live for the new Fantastic Noise podcast which Terry launched last summer as a platform for those already working in the broadcasting industry to discuss their careers and give guidance to anyone looking to follow in their footsteps.
鈥淭his live podcast recording will be lots of听fun for anyone who listens to radio or podcasts,鈥 said Terry. 鈥淏y focusing on the future of audio broadcasting, I hope to steer the discussions towards not just听the exciting developments in how we listen, but also听what content we enjoy listening to.听
鈥淭here are already people signed up to attend from the BBC & Global Media, so the radio conversations should continue long after the microphones are turned off.鈥
Beds Talks are designed to bring together the public with researchers and practitioners on topics of mutual interest.
